Crosswords

a short play written and performed by John Rich and Dax Tran-Caffee
presented at the PROP THTR, Chicago, May 8th, 2007

This is the closest I've ever come to making proper theater, as I am horribly shy of "acting." John is a professional playwright, though he does not often act.

The text was distilled from writings we each made on the subject of communication. Consequently, much of this dialogue-based one-act centered on uncomfortable silences.

Two men of ambiguous relationship inhabit a small stage, squabble thinly over a crossword puzzle, and wrestle with their non-communication.

13 minutes.

Shortly after this production, John and I became roommates. Thankfully, our living situation is not at all like this.
