Music Boxes (2005)

My motivation to decorate music boxes came from a desire to have a commodified branch of my artistic endeavors that need not be work-by-commission, as portraiture does. I was considering producing these as a wintertime substitute for street portraiture, though their construction turned out to be prohibitively time consuming and expensive. This project has been shelved until a I can work out an effective way to manufacture and distribute them. These are photographs of the prototypes:
