This is the second generation of the Picturebox (the first model having been constructed in the month of November, 2003). In this new, full-size version, an illustrated belt is rolled through a machine, by crank, displaying a short, repeating story, while simultaneously playing a music box mounted to the side.

The machine, built out of a discarded accordion case, measures about 24" tall and wide, and about 10" deep, not including the removable crank. The viewing screen is 12" x 16", with a 10-foot reel, which comes to about a 6-minute show.

The first reel for this picturebox was "The Royal Cartographer." This reel is now accompanied by a live reading of the story on the reel, in addition to the music box.

A second reel was commissioned for the short film Silent Disco, directed by Laura Klein, which is in post-production as of Summer 2007.
